Maria Antonieta passed away in 2009. She was in her eighty’s, and was still travelling around Rio de Janeiro to attend dance parties and congresses to share her knowledge and passion of dance with everyone.

Daniel was one of her favorite dance teachers and Carolyn had the pleasure of meeting and dancing with Maria on various occasions while she was living in Rio de Janeiro.
