To become known as ‘the Australian that taught the Brazilians how to dance’ in Brazil was not an easy task for Carolyn to achieve. After moving to Brazil in 2005, Carolyn was soon shown how her previous five years of learning Latin dance in Brisbane was no where near enough to be considered a good dancer or teacher. She made it her mission to make this happen and to be seen as a great Latin dancer in Brazil. For Carolyn this would be the ultimate achievement in her dancing career. Carolyn commenced her full-time dance scholarship at the famous Centro de Danca Jaime Arôxa in Rio de Janeiro in 2005. During these three years, Carolyn's studies included Tango, Samba de Gafieira, Samba no Pé, Zouk (Lambada), Salsa, Forró, Bolero, Soltinho, Ballet and stretching/strengthening classes. She worked 10 - 12 hour days, 6 days per week. She was given many opportunities to teach weekly & perform with other teachers of the school (including Jaime Arôxa).

She danced in various TV mini-series & commercials in Brazil, and also was also the only foreigner chosen to perform in a spectacular 6 month Brazilian Folklore and traditional dance show in Rio de Janeiro. A real career highlight for Carolyn! At the end of 2007, Carolyn and Daniel decided to move back to Australia and start their own dance school in Brisbane. It is their dream to share their passion and extensive knowledge of Latin dance in Australia.
