In 2002 Carolyn made her first visit to Brazil and was greatly inspired by the high standard and passion that the Brazilian´s had for dance. Carolyn returned to Rio de Janeiro to continue her study of Brazilian dance in 2004. On this trip, she met Daniel (her teacher) and they were instantly inseparable.

They were married May 2005 and Carolyn moved to Brazil to be with Daniel. Carolyn was offered a full-time scholarship with Jaime Aroxa’s Dance School to learn dance and also to learn how to teach Jaime Aroxa´s dance methodology. Her studies included the following dance styles: Tango, Samba de Gafieira, Samba no Pé, Zouk (Lambada), Salsa, Forró, Bolero, Soltinho, Ballet and stretching/strengthening classes.

Carolyn was promoted by Jaime Aroxa and began teaching 8 classes per week with Daniel at the school. Carolyn also assisted other teachers (including Jaime Aroxa) in their daily group classes. Carolyn has performed with Jaime Aroxa, Daniel and some of Jaime Aroxa´s other teachers in private and corporate functions around Brazil since 2005.

• Dancing Tango in a Brazilian mini-series "JK"- Brazil - 2005/2006
• Dancing Salsa and Samba in the "Big Brother" TV series on the Gold Coast, Australia - 2004
• Dancing in the opening of the "Goodwill Games" held in Brisbane - 2001

• Taught and performed Samba de Gafieira and Forro at the 'Viva Brazil' Festival in Melbourne, Australia - January 2008
• Auditioned, trained and performed in the Dance Show Spectacular ´Viva Brasil´ during six months in Rio de Janeiro. Carolyn was the only foreigner who passed the audition and joined another 54 Brazilian dancers to perform weekly in ´Viva Brasil´, Rio de Janeiro – 2007
• Performed Samba de Gafieira with Jaime Aroxa in the famous ´Copacabana Palace´, Rio de Janeiro – 2007
• Taught workshops in Tango, Forro, Zouk, Samba & Bolero in Brisbane, Sunshine Coast & Gold Coast, Australia with Daniel in March – 2007
• Performed and taught Samba and Forro for a group of directors from ´Disney´, Rio de Janeiro – 2006
• Performed Forro with Daniel for the opening of a sister school of Jaime Aroxa´s in Vila Velha, ES Brazil – 2006
