After years of studying dance with Maria Antonieta, in 1986, Jaime Arôxa created his own dance school in Rio de Janeiro. The school 'Centro de Danca Jaime Arôxa' has now taught more than 25,000 students in Brazil and many more worldwide. In addition to teaching dance 12 hours a day, 7 days a week, Jaime Arôxa spends his free time creating choreographies for events such as music concerts, movies, soap operas, the annual 'Carnaval' parade in Rio de Janeiro and many shows. Jaime Aroxa is the most well respected Latin dance teacher in Brazil. Along with Daniel and Carolyn, he is also the master of Adilio Porto, Renata Peçanha, and Jimmy Oliviera - just a few familiar names in the Latin dance scene. See them all at a recent reunion in Brazil below.
Daniel was one of Jaime's most popular teachers in the school, and to this day is always welcomed back with open arms by Jaime and his other teachers. Daniel returns to teach at the school on his yearly visits back to Rio de Janeiro, and always has the option to return as one of Jaime's full time teachers whenever he pleases.
A career highlight for Carolyn was when Jaime Arôxa invited her to perform with him at the famous 'Copacabana Palace' in front of a live orchestra when his usual dance partner Bianca Gonzalez was not available to dance. It was a real honor to perform with Jaime Arôxa, and a spectacular event she will never forget.
He who dances is much more happy
Num momento em que as pessoas estão buscando alternativas para a solidão, a dança é a grande resposta. Quem dança é mais feliz, disso não tenho dúvida!
