There would be no dancing as we know it without her. Maria Antonieta was the creator of teaching Latin dance in group classes. She taught the master of masters, Jaime Arôxa, how to dance.

Maria Antonieta passed away in 2009. She was in her eighty's, and was still travelling around Rio de Janeiro to attend dance parties and congresses to share her knowledge and passion of dance with everyone.

Daniel was one of her favourite dance teachers and Carolyn had the pleasure of meeting and dancing with Maria on various occasions while she was living in Rio de Janeiro.
